Atmospheric new particle formation (NPF) events refer to the birth of particles in the atmosphere. These events can take place over large distances between locations, featuring similar characteristics, and have thus been the focus of many studies during the last decade. The exact mechanism which triggers NPF still remains indefinable, so are the circumstances under which simultaneous occurrence of such events take place in different environments, let alone in environments which are parted by over 1200 km. The current work uses data from two stations in Greece and one in Jordan, and discusses the homogeneity of NPF events at an even larger, regional scale.
