Esteemed speakers from 6 distinct sectors, representing a variety of stakeholders within the European ecosystem, had the opportunity to present during online events detailed Roadmaps and the Way Forward for Research and Innovation strategy for Earth Observation in Europe, in the domains of agriculture, infrastructure, marine & maritime, raw materials, urban development, and wind energy. The discussions were attended by more than 400 participants.
Dr E. Gerasopoulos, urban sector leader of FIRE Forum 2023, representing the SMURBS project on smart cities, served as a panelist in the Urban Development section, and together with colleagues from EC (CINEA, DG Regio), EUSPA and EARSC/Airbus, he analysed R&D in the field of urban resilience, providing insights on GEO's efforts in this regard.
