APCG's monthly meeting was held today at IERSD premises and the discussion revolved around GIS applications in Environmental Science. More specifically, Nasia Kakouri gave an insight on the exploitation of geo-statistical, satellite and other spatial information towards creating added value geo-spatial products.
Her super-interesting presentation motivated an equally interesting discussion among our members regarding possible GIS deployment for optimizing the estimation of the photovoltaic potential in urban areas, downscaling global model outputs for targeted areas, visualizing max-doas retrievals and combine the socio-economic and environmental sciences.
