Konstantinos Dimitriou is a physicist who completed his undergraduate studies and received his BSc degree from the Department of Physics of the University of Ioannina in Greece in 2006. Afterwards, he followed the postgraduate program in Meteorology Climatology and Physics of the Atmospheric Environment of the same department and he obtained his MSc degree in 2009 and his PhD in 2013. His research is focused on long range and regional transport of gaseous and particulate atmospheric pollutants with special emphasis on particles and their chemical composition, and also on human exposure to atmospheric pollutants through the implementation of air quality indices. Up to now, he has participated in 35 published articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and his h-index is equal to 18 (more than 700 citations). In 32 of these publications he was the lead (first) author. From 2013 to 2018, Konstantinos taught various lessons at universities and higher education institutes in Greece, whilst from 2019 he is a post doc researcher at the National Observatory of Athens. He is a fluent user of the English language, a native speaker of the Greek language and a moderate user of the French language. Konstantinos is also a reviewer for 21 international scientific journals and since 2021 an Editorial Board member of the MDPI journal Sustainability.
