Born in Didymoteicho, Greece in 1998, Maria holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics (2021) and a Master’s Degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Environment (2023) from the University of Ioannina. Her Bachelor thesis was titled "The effect of clouds on the night-time ground-air temperature via infrared radiation during winter (2019-2020) in the Ioannina basin" and her Master thesis was titled "Identification and characteristics of days and cases of strong dust events over Asia based on contemporary satellite data". She is currently a PhD candidate at the same University and joined the Institute for Environmental Research & Sustainable Development (NOA) in January 2024, participating in projects concerning air quality sensors.
